On June 25th, We held another GC Sessions percussion event with the legendary Sheila E. The evening turned out to be a very special event as Sheila played with Michael Jackson and the announcement of his passing hit everyone at the store during sound check. Even with the news, over 150 people showed up for the event, lining up hours before it actually started.

Once again I played master of ceremonies and Sheila went through a number of demonstrations of all the different types of percussion she is famous for, including her new line of signature congas and bongos.

After a great solo on the drum set, Sheila got involved in a Q and A with the crowd and even brought a few surprised individuals up to play along with her!

The evening ended with GC giving away over $2000 worth of prizes from the sponsoring companies of DW, Zildjian, Shure, Remo and Toca. A great time was had by all and will remain in everyone’s memory banks as a very special evening.
